3. How would an outsider interpret the song?

The Getty’s main idea will not be lost on unbelievers.  After all, they are told ten times that the Lord is the Getty’s salvation.  The rest of the song is poetic pointers to this main message.  The Getty’s chose everyday, common language that non-Christians will easily understand.

Score: 10/10

4. What does this song glorify?

Glory be to God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit for their roles in our redemption.

Score: 10/10

Closing Comments

Keith & Kristyn Getty’s The Lord is My Salvation is awesome.  Its message of power, grace, salvation, and hope in God is simple but not simplistic, fitting hand in glove with the Bible’s message of redemption found in Jesus.  This brings glory to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  Unbelievers will find interpretation easy to come by.

I highly recommend this song for corporate worship.

Final Score: 10/10

I had never realized this was a Keith and Kristyn Getty song. The only version I had heard before was the Shane and Shane one.
