Hello Fellow Bereans,
My name is Pastor Chris Mellon and I am so excited to have the opportunity to carry on this website and the privilege that it is to serve fellow believers in this way. I first want to say thank you to Vince for the blessing this site has been to myself and my team. I stumbled across this site a number of years ago and have used it many times to support our decision making process as to which songs we feel are biblical and will connect the best with our congregation. I am honored, to have the opportunity to carry this site on and to continue to use it to bless and serve others.
I have been a worship pastor for twelve years and have learned and grown so much during that process. I have been married to my beautiful wife for thirteen years and we have four children. One of my biggest passions in life is music and while I thoroughly enjoy leading my team and my congregation each week in praise to the Lord, I also am surrounded by music in almost every aspect of my life.
As I begin to navigate this site and transition things over from Vince, I appreciate your patience as I begin to develop a routine. I do not want to set too lofty of goals to start, but once I see what structure is achievable, I will hopefully begin to develop more of a process to keep on top of things. Regardless, I am thankful for the catalog of the almost 1,000 songs that Vince and others have already processed through and I encourage you to be sure to check those out.
Once again I am thankful to Vince and thankful to each of you for desiring to sing praise and worship that is rooted in the Word of the Lord!

Thanks, Chris. I, too, discovered this site several years ago. I’m on our worship team, and on rare occasions have been asked to take the lead on Sundays when our main worship leader takes a break. This site has been a blessing to me. It also provides a structure for evaluating lyrics on my own with the four questions on the Evaluation page (https://www.thebereantest.com/criteria-for-evaluating-christian-music).
