Announcements – Finalized Upcoming Reviews Changes and New November Poll

After much thought and some discussion regarding my thoughts on the current Upcoming Reviews process, I decided to follow through with my plan, with some modifications. Starting in January 2020, any new polls will follow the following format:

1. • Most polls will have eight entries.  Only the top two will be selected, with ties broken based on the earliest submission.
   • I will run additional polls as needed to fill spots, ensuring two reviews per week.
   • Rejected songs will be placed into a text file outside of the website.  After I clear the “Did Not Pass Polling” list (which will be renamed “Extra songs when Vince has time”), I will begin to select random songs as I have time to review them.  Users may request them again for a future poll.
   • Hillsong polls will be run under a new format:
     • I will run one poll every three months, so long as there are at least eight submissions.  If there are less than eight entries, I’ll add another month until there are at least eight.
     • Only the top voted song will pass and will receive a review. Ties will be broken based on the earliest submission.
     • I will not keep a record of rejected Hillsong songs.  This helps with tiebreaking.
     • Users may re-request songs that do not pass.
     • All Hillsong songs (except Good Grace) will be cleared from “Did Not Pass Polling”. Users may re-request these songs for a future Hillsong poll.
   • Artist submissions will continue to receive priority after the polls.
   • I reserve the right to bypass songs outside of these restrictions, to balance artists and genres.  I may also choose a song for my own edification.

Speaking of polls, thank you for voting on my third Hillsong poll!  I am not surprised that King of Kings came out on top. There were four separate requests to review it!

I plan to only schedule the top voted song; however, you may select up to two songs for your vote. If there is a tie, the earliest submitted song will be added to the schedule.

This poll will close at the end of November 13, 2019. If you don’t like these picks, consider submitting a song for review.

While you’re in there, consider submitting some Christmas songs!  There is still plenty of room for more entries.  You have until the end of November 16, 2019.
